Love to see that but it’s a NO from me

Odds are looking pretty low at the moment, perhaps less than 15%?  Or is that too bearish?

We gotta get above a few pretty strong resistance points, especially between $10k and $17k.... Probably if we were able to get above $17k, then we have pretty decent chances of breaking above previous ATH from there... By the way, I am also reading your €25k as a value of about $28k, since we are talking dollars in this thread, not European funny money.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.... so yeah, once we get above the previous ATH of $19,666, then probably we will be able to get into the sub $30k territory before meeting some resistance, perhaps?

The problem is so many people who bought around the end of 2017 will be holding out to sell off as soon as we get back up to the last ATH so they can get their money out. I think when we get near the ATH it wont smash straight through, as much as i would love it too.

I also think people will be happy to take a risk buying now and holding until we reach the previous ATH, without them wanting to hold on any longer as they fear the retrace.

There once was a user called dandannn,
Who believed in Bitcoin like a mad man,
He lived in the shadows of the forum,
Wall Observer was the only thread for him,
The other posts helped him cope,
When the price was low and there was little hope,
Until one day he wrote a rhyme,
To thank all the regulars for their time,
Their posts had always taught him a lot,
He continued to hodl to the jackpot!

What's the rationale behind the Bitcorn halving by the way? Why not some sort of continuous curve that converges to zero?

To give us a wee thrill to look forward to every few years?

Perhaps Satoshi was a shameless showman after all. Everyone loves a cliffhanger.

I'd rather be poor and have a full head of hair than be rich and bald

At the age of 43 or whatever I am mine's just starting to fray.

I wouldn't mind at all if it was turning into a widow's peak, that's a good look, but mine's only going directly in the centre of the forehead which looks fucking awful so I'm going to wind up looking like the victim of a driveby lobotomy.

Weird how just a few square cm on one portion of your skull turns you from someone normal-looking to a drooling goon.

Had to shave my head for years and im not even 30 yet, the only person who really gives a shit about your hair is you. If that doesn't make you feel better - you can always get xHomerx10 to make you a hat

The point is that we're already down 90% and the probability of going down further decreases exponentially as we go down. You're just falling victim to the gambler's fallacy right now.

Agreed. It's an absolute classic noob move but it's also 100% understandable. It's how regular human minds work.

Unfortunately the people you're trading against know this and do not have regular human minds.

I completely agree however, we must take into consideration that many people invested last year, with a buy in much greater than ours. They could already be at a loss or close to a loss, which puts them at a very different mind set to us who, would need a far greater drop in price to be in their position.

Ah yeah, now we're talking!

Although this time around it does feel as though there is this air of certainty that the price WILL increase and it WILL repeat the historic trend, ie. 100k here we come. In my experience, the more 'certain' a gamble is going to pay off, the less likely it does. It almost feels like buying at this price point its too good to be true, and that makes me nervous.

I'd say though that people should decide on a price and proportion of coins that works for them and get rid no matter what the market looks like it might do once those targets are hit.

Yeah, don't back-pedal on your targets when the time comes and don't fall into the trap of reinvesting what you intend to keep out.

Having said that, Bitcoin is always one step ahead of the game...

Really agree with that, I will be much, much better prepared during the next parabolic price jump.

It could be 5+ years away, thats a hell of a time to keep on your toes!

If you believe in blockchain tech there's no reason not to buy right now.

Prime example of why I make fun of people in this thread every day.  You're not supposed to have to "believe" in anything.  That would make it a religion or cult.  It's just supposed to work without any belief.  But the fact of the matter is, transaction validators are designed to centralize in every single craptocurrency ever created out of all 2000+ of them[/u], so no, they do not work and have no fundamentals and no amount of belief will change that.  This is why I stack physical metals.

haha craptocurrency, that made me chuckle!

Meanwhile, UNO continues its relentless march towards becoming permanently established as one of Bitcoin's best performing hedges and general long term stores of value. Looks like it will be one of the survivors of the "crypto dotcom bubble" who's cap will eventually be catapulted into the top rankings.

Trying to get one's hands on any significant amount of it though is a distinct matter.

And what exactly makes uno the exception to the crypto winter during the downtrend? I don't even know algorithm uno is or what makes it special.

One special thing about UNO is that the daily volume is around $6000.... There are very few shitcoins that haven't been unlisted with such low volume. It's definitely a rarity.

I do not think it is a good idea to convince people to invest in anything.

Taking care of your money if your own responsibility, and it is a very personal decision. If someone asks my opinion, I will tell them. But gathering people to invest in BTC is risky, and it may cause problems in your personal life. A Friend or family member may make wrong decisions and lose money , and he will blame you.

For any kind of investment... Investment advice usually ends bad.

You could and should give certain people, who are interested, some information, and reading material. So they can make their own decisions

Your quite right, i was focusing more towards passing on informative information rather than financial advise.

Proof of Keys on Jan. 3 Gains Traction

What do you think about this?

I believe if you are not in possession of your private keys you really don't "own" bitcoin. Keeping your coin on exchanges is a non-trivial risk at best.

That being said, I have kept a small portion of my coin on certain exchanges for limited amounts of time at various points of accumulation.

I suppose I am distrustful by nature, part of me questions this. Is this just an attempt at chain analytics? Be that as it may..use proper security measures if you choose to participate.(ie dont reuse addresses ect)

Guess the booze

I was going to say a amstel and a cuba libre, but the drink your lady has appears too dark.

Kanpai!

Really liking the idea of Proof of Keys especially for new comers. I found out the hard way that leaving coins on the exchange is not a good idea. People need to understand that if they want to invest in bitcoin they also need to invest in some of the ideas around, ie  becoming your own bank.

I think some people are just waiting to see what the market is going to do before buying.  They will eventually decide it is not going down any more and then jump in and another rally will begin.  Or someone will dump and they will jump in and then keep the price at about the level it is at now.  I think the fact that we have seen a few dumps already without affecting the price too drastically is really bullish and shows there is some great support

Now given that if the ETF is approved, we can look back and say that it 100 percent was in fact approved. If I believe now that it will be approved, I prefer to look at it the same way I will after the fact. That is to say I believe that a Bitcoin ETF will soon be approved and I place the likelihood of approval at exactly 100.00% with zero margin of error.

Whether or not it is approved will make no difference to the medium or long term price.

Crypto is in a bear market, which has to play-out. The time scale is easy to see from the long term chart of BTC.

Once we get to 2020, then news will be more capable of a positive effect.

Agree with this, i still think we have at least a few months of this bear market, regardless of any approval.
