(Permabull warning) I believe that the first two bubbles were real (I mean real based on honest speculation...), but the 1240-bubble was heavily distorted by the mtgox fiasco, and should be disregarded. So, now is the time for the next real bubble...

I think we'll have to go sideways or up a little bit (to the 700-800 range) for the next 2-3 months and then the next bubble can commence.
It will be a spectacle to behold!
Yes! The price of bitcoin should be at least $600. We are still low right now thanks to Mr. Tibanne. Cheesy

I think that we are really starting to see adoption on a grand scale.   Obviously we have a long ways to go, but I don't think the price yet reflects this last large wave of companies starting to accept bitcoin.   Everyday you jump on the internet, you see a new company starting to accept bitcoin.   It is simple logic that as more companies accept it, the more people will need bitcoin.
These good news were mitigated by the whole gox crysis. People were waiting for the price to rebound after the December's correction and it briefly did in January, they started buying just to find themselves trapped by Gox.

There is no volume. People are hodling. Only bears are selling.

The panic selling i can live with. It's just that nobody buys back anymore. We just go down after every round of fake news and other bullshit and stay down. That's the problem.
This has been going on for months now with no real reason other than manipulation and idiotic fear.
It's annoying to know my coins are getting worth less every day because of this bullshit.

Yup, someone posts some grim news>everybody reacts like it was legit>news are proven to be fake> nobody buys back scared of another FUD>people start slowly buying>another FUD. We had a stable period above $700, then Gox died and since that there's been a month of FUD panic.

Why do you think it is bullshit? I doubt they would say they had seen a document unless it was true.
1 there was a lot of similar fake news recently.
2 CEOs of Chinese exchanges said they haven't seen any document
3 There is no real proof and no government official to confirm
4 Nobody wants to take responsibility for the news naming himself as the source
5 Chinese government said the previous (similar) news were FAKE

It is 20:00 pm now in China.  Huobi's clients normally trade heavily until midnight, go to sleep around 01:00 am and wake up before 07:00 am.  Except when the price is changing fast, then many keep trading all night long.

I hope China traders will help the price to go up Smiley

Haha - wishful thinking Smiley More probable is they'll read some blog or twitter message and start selling again like the sheep they are.

Ok. Here is my ANALysis:

The price will go down in few hours to 300-250 and downt0 to 9$ through the night.
Remember there are heavy holders like bitstamp, btc-e etc owners. They surely collected enough fee in BTC-currency, so they need to convert it to real money before the ultimate shutdown.
After   BTC will hit 9$ it will never rise again., and became history.

I'm looking at your predictions and most of you guys are overly optimistic. You give 5-10% to a BTC price above $7000 :O I consider myself an optimist and a bull and I think we'll see a new high this year, but that would be ~$1500. If you think we can reach $5k or more this year you're dreaming.

its really odd, that you can't stretch your mind around the fact that that kind of growth happened in 2013 already..and with the right circumstances could occur again.. but I'd think tops 4-5k
Yes, but at that time we had Gox around, pumping the price, now we have milions in BTC lost to some fat bastard.

1200 seemed totally crazy and exaggarated in early 2013 when a coin was at 10$/BTC.
If BTC enters a rally, and that is only a question of time, do you really think it will just surpass the previous ATH by a measly 25%?
That's like the last rally ending at 332$ gox price.

If btc starts rallying, it is like a russian locomotive, it won't stop, there's just too much momentum, too much euphoria, hype, it will keep going and
going and going. So 5k/BTC is in no way exaggarated. Perhaps even way less exaggarated than predicting 1200$ ATH in early 2013.
As I said before, last year people were more confident. Gox pumped the price with a bot, Chinese market looked healthy.

This year it's a bit different, a lot of FUD, people seem nervous, overreacting and dumping cluelessly. A large number of investors lost money on Gox, some just backed away from planned investments hearing that so much money disappeared.
I don't think we'll see last year's growth again, at least until the Gox case gets closed and/or China's policy changes.

Looks like we are going through another lull in pricing.   I hope we aren't following the trend of when we somewhat recovered after our descent from over $1,000.   Remember that, when we came back and hit around $800, only to fall more after?

I think the market as a whole is a ton stronger now, but we will see...
There was a lot of negativity and fear back then, supported by news of MtGox insolvency. I wouldn't count on it happening now.

seriously puzzled by the selling pressure, oh well more for me.

it has something to do with the auction ...obviously!  Cool

Market will not move further till this auction finish, this auction really pushing market downside so whale will buy Silkroad coin more cheaper.
I read they are going to be sold at least on or above the market price. Nobody's getting anything cheaper.
Also anybody buying these aren't just going to dump it next day, they are smarter than that.

Oooh, I'm filled with fear and dread... not. Scarce commodity vs. the printing press, lets see who runs out first Wink

Bitcoin still above 610, but surely heavy manipulation going on till evening, after that we will be sure which direction market will choose.

Yea, I'm suprised that it's still above $600,-... Im going to wait till midnight before I make any decisions.
And I'm not, there's no reason for it to go below 600. I'm really bullish on bitcoin, since every time it goes down the lowest point is higher then the previous one.
$515 > $538 > $554 - It's going up as it should.

Placing bids now. Is $350 too greedy or should i stick with the trusty $420?
Go ahead, it won't go below $500 anyway. The only thing that could push it lower would be a major event e.g. another Gox.

If we don't brake 560$ today I doubt we will see it in next days. Or?  Smiley

They are already buying on stamp probably... so nothing will change.

No, they open on Friday so we are going down till the weekend.

No, they are not buying.

It really isn't complicated: they will make money on the increase in the value of their fund (probs mainly long with some downside hedging). Hence it is in their interest for the price to be as low as possible on Friday. They have decades of commodity trading experience and deep funding. We are going down till the weekend.

A new deadline. You people just keep creating new deadlines out of thin air. We will go up on that day. That days comes and goes. We still go down and you will simply create a new deadline.

And you are just crying doom. Take a break, go outside, it's summer!
Bitcoin will come back up as it always does. It may take a week a month or even a year but the price will go up no need to worry.

When the dust settles there is no room for cloud mining. For cloud mining to makes sense you're dependent on ever increasing prices. And if you think prices will shoot up like that you should probably just buy coins.

Wrong. Both mining and cloud mining are the most effective when prices are stable. This way you can profit even if there's completely no price movement for a year. If the value goes up holding becomes more profitable and if the prices go down both mining and trading become unprofitable. The only thing that can bring you profit in such case is trading (waiting for small bounces and bull traps to sell).

I tried trading when the price was somehow stable (about 1-10$ bumps). But I never managed to make profit from it, because of the high fees. I didnt have much capital, only 0.5 btc and managed to only make 10$ in 2 weeks.
Am I doing something wrong or is my capital just too small?

.5 is to small unless you use leverage but with that it's to dangerous
That's right. With 0.5 invested and a $10 bump, in an ideal situation, you'll get $5 -tax. It's not worth it really, unless you're doing it to learn.
You can of course profit on these small moves, most traders do, but the more coins you have the better.

That goes for you to. And we haven't seen the kind of stability you're talking about since they started with cloud hashing and I honestly don't think the margins will allow it if/when we get there.

I never said it was stable and that is why mining is not that profitable and cloud companies are going bankrupt one by one. In a stable market mining would be the most profitable solution, beating both holding and trading.

I usually start with 2 btc @x20 leverage and work my way up, once I have 6-8 I cash out the extra and start again with 2.  Given the current market conditions I haven't cashed out yet since the potential to profit is very high.  This bear wave is strong and I don't see it ending anytime soon.

I agree, we'll probably end up testing January prices again, but another pump is right around the corner. Wink
