Even though it's an urban myth among us, there's a strong possibility for some of them doing that just for their amusement. This board consists of persons with high dedication, [relatively] high IQ and the trolls may enjoy being here facing strong arguments which is something different than usual spits & curses happening elsewhere. I don't know if you can find someone to pay you for trolling, but I can point you here just in case you want to make some BTCs with your posts.

Cheers.

I'd think everyone would have them on ignore by now but it's hard to imagine that someone would dedicate 600+ post + a bunch of other nicks https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=347792;sa=showPosts;start=600 just to say that BTC is dooooomed. There are no strong arguments here or IQ, it's a same broken record DOOOOOMED. Now i'd feel just sad for them if they're not getting at least 50c/hr for all that work

I've always thought that YourMother is totally mental. I know him from the Cloak thread and I was glad that I didn't ignore him (though I still lost money).

Thanks for the services link (had missed that one)

Im really thinking of getting more exposure in alts. We might see sub 1 k :/

Hmm...this is how shills are born. Sell low, buy alts high, then try to recover your losses by trying to get everyone else to buy your alt with the hopes of breaking even and selling.

Yup. Just had to talk my coworker out of buying into the ETH/Dash bubble. He had a serious case of FOMO. Sure, the price may be much higher before it bursts. But you have to be retarded not to see that this growth is not sustainable...

Don't stop them! Let them buy! A lot of people can learn only one way, the hard way.

Just have to sell before the bubble bursts. Simple as that.

Seriously guys, WTF is a NEO ?

According to the Shitcoin Gazette:

Quote
NEO has recently gained some notoriety due to its collaboration with Chinese certificate authorities to map real-world assets using its smart contract technology. NEO has also signed partnership agreements with several startup companies.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Formerly known as AntShares. I don't understand why they changed their name. And the new logo is ugly.
But otherwise the tech seems interesting. A bit like the Chinese version of ETH whereas XEM is the Japanese version of ETH. I.E. All of them have the ability to do "smart contracts" but at least XEM has an API (application platform interface) that is able to use (or compatible with) many other coding languages unlike Etherium, which uses only a single programming language in their API. I'm not sure about NEO but anyways if you hodl NEO in your wallet, you get GAS, which is equivalent to ETH on the Ethereum blockchain.

Another overnight push. Loving those at the moment.  Grin

Does anyone have a list of airdrop Alts that can still be claimed with my private keys?

I'm not sure how many airdrops are running out there, but these are confirmed running right now:

Stellar Lumens - LAST date 27th Aug
https://www.stellar.org/blog/bitcoin-claim-lumens-2/

Byteball - next round on 6th Sep
https://byteball.org/

Bitcore
https://bitcore.cc/

(And of course, the usual BitCH coins, if you've not already claimed them)

Also DeepONION, airdrop is today but you have to add a huge signature to be able to claim the coins. But they are worth around $100-200, weekly.

I like Byteball the most.

I have a VPN service but I worry that if the VPN drops the node would stay online without caring.

Firewall it (default deny all) on your outbound router and only allow packets going to the VPN provider. If the VPN drops, it will simply get disconnected, and that way you also make sure there's no DNS or other type of leakeage going on.

I will look into doing that. My router is the box provided by the ISP, that sounds bad but it's a very innovative ISP (father of the school "42" ), the thing is extremely powerful and has tons of options, I've seen one about VPNs.

Can somebody recommend me a good router that can only allow packets going to the VPN provider? Also it would be cool to have a firewall in the router. I've  been looking in the Tomato-firmare that can be installed into many cheap routers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomato_(firmware)

segwit2x

My guess is that segwit2x won't even happen. Doesn't make sense, following the great success of BTC (segwit activated without any problems etc). Maybe if there will be some technical hiccups (I very much doubt it).

If yes, we need to buy this dip before going to $5000.

I can't see bitcoin going down from here, anymore, monday is coming. Maybe a slight dip. But I don't think bitcoin will pass over $5000 for at least until the China FUD calms down.

how?

http://www.purse.io

Guess that does not work in EU ?

You can always use a service like usendhome.com though the shipping cost might be too much (often more then 50 euros). But worthwhile if you are ordering something expensive. Also, amazon.com doesn't ship many items over-the-coast so usendhome is a work-around for that kind of situation.

You would think after almost three years of being involved in the cryptocurrency sphere, that I would know how to trade. But I still am quite clueless. I thought I did well yesterday. I managed to put of few trades together, where I sold higher and then would buy back lower. I didn't catch the absolute crests and troughs, but I did OK with the little bit that I was moving around. I then bought back last night, and left it at that, so I could sleep well at night with a few more satoshis than I had 24 hours ago. This morning, just before work, I saw the market shoot up from a low of almost 2800 USD to a little above $3300. I thought, surely this must be near the peak, so I sold a little bit of my BTC. Now it appears the rally has continued and I find myself stuck with a fiat balance on Gdax. I know that it is recommended not to seek trading advise in this space. However, I really am clueless what to do. Any recommendations? Here are my options.

1) Keep the fiat balance on GDAX, so that I can continue to play around with the market at my leisure, and have both a BTC balance and a fiat balance.
2) Transfer fiat to Paypal and pay off the credit card balance that I have for them. (Coinbase charges a big fee to do this though, and I could probably pay off my balance outright with fiat I already have in the bank anyway.)
3) Buy back your BTC, use this as perfect example that I suck at trading and transfer all my BTC back to cold storage so I can HODL.

Thanks in advance for the advice.  Wink

I'd recommend thinking of something to buy. Then Buy back your BTC and use that BTC immediately to buy it.

I don't want my bank to know that I am fiddling around with BTC. Not sure what their policy is, but don't want to take chances, and have them close my account. That is why I have lately been using the Paypal route. Then I can transfer from Paypal to my bank and all my bank sees is that I got money from Paypal.

I'm not sure what you mean but selling BTC for paypal-money is very risky. Anyone can complain within 30 days and get their money back + keep the coins. Paypal-policy says that they can just take the money from you and give it to someone else.

If you're worried about your exchange double-crossing you in that manner, you probably shouldn't be dealing with that particular exchange in the first place.

What exchanges pay you with paypal money? Also I wouldn't trust Paypal with any larger sums. I once sold most of my vinyl records in a short period and paypal froze my account. I had to prove this and that to be able to be able to use my funds again. It took months and I was really broke (that's why I sold my vinyls) so I'm still quite pissed.

Exactly. We need a slow build this time. We've got some good momentum going, but to your point, no hurry to get there.

In this for the long-haul.

That last run-up to $5k was irrational.

This run up to 5K may also be irrational with the segwit2 fork and other FUD to be tossed soon....so I'm assuming it will get to 5k ...people will break under that pressure and sell....like
the last time it was 5K and with the FUD on the forking and other spam ...we will slip back to 3.5k again and then repeat up to 5k ..hopefully as you say...more steady and sure

anyway, hope I'm wrong but how I see it playing out now

Good Morning Wobservers.

Hmmm... Bitcoin half price? Seems like a good time to sell. Maybe I’ll buy it again when it’s very expensive.

Who is this mystical Russian creature you are speaking about?
